Indie Rock Wedding at Sleeping Village

I simply don’t know how I haven’t blogged this one yet! Not only did these two have the coolest vintage and vintage inspired wedding attire and they got married at one of my favorite Chicago music venues but the bride and groom’s band also played a few songs at their own reception!

Both wedding parties got ready in the cutest rentals above Long Room bar.

We did the first look on the patio of Long Room.

And then we took some photos inside one of the couple’s favorite bars! They even have a photo booth, which you know I love.

The crew then headed over to Sleeping Village to prep for the ceremony on their patio. These two had some of my favorite details set up for their wedding.

It was so sweet to be part of this day. Not only because this wedding was so up my alley and because these two are so sweet and thoughtful but also because Carrie’s brother Connor was one of my best friends in college. It felt so special to document her day and have her brother who we all miss dearly so present in my mind.

Carrie and Pat had the sweetest ceremony in front of the Mitch Reardon mural on Sleeping Village’s patio. It was officiated by Carrie’s cousin and included a mindful meditation and music performed by close friends.

We snuck away for a few quick portraits on the side street after with the Mac Blackout mural.

And we got back in time to enjoy cocktail hour inside and outside the venue.

Big Star tacos catered (one of my very favorite wedding meals) and family and friends gave toasts from the stage.

Maybe I’m biased because I’ve seen so many shows in this space but I really loved this spot for the couple’s first dance.

After special dances everyone enjoyed an of course live band on the dance floor.

After a bit of dancing the couple’s band - Alpine Subs took to the stage to play a few songs for their wedding guests.

And that’s a wrap! Still one of the coolest, most Chicago specific, and super sweet weddings I’ve documented to date.
